Day 01: LIMA
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit to the city to know its main streets, squares and avenues. We visit the district of Miraflores, with a stop at Parque del Amor, where one can admire spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Continuation to the Culture Center Huaca Pucllana, ceremonial and cultural center of Lima, where we do a sightseeing tour. Next, to Huaca Huallamarca, ancient pre-Inca temple situated next to the modernity of one of the most exclusive district of Lima, San Isidro, and then to Plaza de Armas, where is the Government Palace and City Hall. Entry in the cathedral, home to the remains of the conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Walk by a few blocks to admire the Convent of San Francisco and its famous catacombs. Accommodation.
Day 02: LIMA
Free day to explore the capital of Peru and shopping. Accommodation.
Day 03: LIMA - CUSCO
After breakfast, transfer to the airport (flight not included). Reception and transfer to the hotel. Welcome meeting with an infusion of coca tea to help with acclimatization. Rest of the morning free to rest. Afternoon visit to the city of Cusco. We started the tour by the Church and Plaza de San Cristobal, from where one has a panoramic view of Cusco. Then visit to the neighborhood of San Blas, famous for its craftsmen and narrow streets. Walk from the main square down the narrow street Hatun Rumiyoc, where is located the palace of Inca Roca, currently the Archbishop's Palace. See the famous stone of twelve angles, beautiful symbol of Inca architecture's perfection. Visit to the Plaza de Armas in Cusco and entry in the cathedral, which houses the finest colonial relics and paintings. Then visit to the Korikancha temple to the Sun God, and finally, visit to the market of San Pedro, where one can observe the different products of the area. Accommodation.
Day 04: CUSCO - Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman
Morning visit to the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman. We start climbing up to Tambomachay, where are the sacred sources of life and health, continuing to Puca Pucara, sentinel that guards the entrance to the city. Visit to Q'enqo, Puma's ancient temple, where one can enjoy the altar of sacrifice on the internal part of a huge rock. The fortress of Sacsayhuaman is a beautiful place that radiates peace and tranquility. Admire the huge stones of up to 4m high that have been used in the construction. Return to Cusco and free afternoon. Accommodation.
Day 05: CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU
After breakfast, transfer to the train station and departure to the town of Aguas Calientes, located at the base of the mountain where is the sacred citadel of the Incas 'Machu Picchu'. Trip up by bus to the ruins with a spectacular view of the canyon formed by the Urubamba River. We enter the tower to enjoy its terraces, stairways, worship centers and also the accommodation rooms. This place has high energy because the stones that formed it have quartz in their composition. Buffet lunch on the top of the mountain. Then you can freely re-enter the citadel. Accommodation at Sanctuary Lodge, located in the mountain, or in the town of Aguas Calientes, according to the chosen hotel. Accommodation.
Day 06: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Free day with time for a new visit to the citadel. Opportunity to climb up to Intipunku, the gateway of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, or the mountain Huayna Picchu, where is the Templo de la Luna. You can also visit the new Museum of the Site, in Aguas Calientes. Afternoon return by train to Cusco. Accommodation.
Day 07: CUSCO
Transfer to the airport after breakfast. |
